Configuring the Postie Plugin
As part of my talk, Walking With WordPress, this Saturday at Wordcamp UK, I shall be going over how to configure the Postie plugin.
If truth be told I’ve been having a few issues with it, but reccognise that if WordPress and mobile blogging have a serious future right now Postie seems to be the only viable solution.
At the moment I’m having to test Postie’s ability to make a successful post when the user making the post from his or her mobile is a Contributor as opposed to an Administrator; this worked fined on a default theme WordPress installation but on this site Postie, for some reason, isn’t seeing the email in the mailbox, or more likely there’s an issue with Postie recognising the email address as one with an appropriate user authorised level.
If you see this post I’ve resolved the issue.

OK, I resolved the problem by using the reset button within the Postie plugin to restore the default configuration.
Having done that it meant re-entering my bespoke settings and also the destination mailbox settings as well.
This may be the only option WordPress users of this plugin have to rectify the issue if it arises, but I mention it because it’s happened on more than one occasion and more than one installation.
