Day 1 St Bees Head to Ennerdale Bridge
Better late than never - we left St Bees Head at 9am this morning. Going was initially slow and we were only averaging 1 mph, but by the time we got to Hannah Moor we got ourselves into gear.
By 1pm we’d made it beyond Cleator and stopped for lunch. Continuing on we climbed Dent Fell - 1000ft in 1 mile. Near the top we could see Sellafield and the capped off chimney where the fire occurred.
We descended passing by Standing Stones and then round by Scaly Moss and kept heading north ’til we hit the road into Ennerdale Bridge.
The Fox and Hounds was a very welcome site particularly as my right knee was by now causing me considerable pain; this has raised a question mark over whether I can continue the walk, but I’ll see how it is in the morning.
The evening meal was excellent and the Fox and Hounds is very comfortable - www.foxandhoundscumbria.co.uk
Tomorrow we’re walking from Ennerdale Bridge to Rosthwaite - about 15 miles

Hulloooo there! And what fine figures of men you look in that pic! Seriously though, keep up the good work, theres not many in BNI or the wider business community that would be up for such a venture, so sincerely, good on you!
