Posting by Email Issues
The Wordpress codex says that email attachments will be displayed inline
when making a post by email.
However, this has proved not to be the case and if an image is attached =
to
an email and posted to the blog all that appears is numerical code =
instead
of the image. Another annoying issue is that an equals sign is being
inserted, I suspected after a given number of characters, which breaks =
up
the lines and looks awful.
I will be looking at other methods of posting images in a Wordpress blog =
as
part of an article. One method that does work is using a Flickr account. =
To
do this, email the image to your Flickr account and then login and using =
the
Blog This facility you will find the post and image are inserted just =
fine.
This is all very well, but I’m wanting to use a mobile phone to email
pictures with posts to my blog when doing the Coast to Coast Walk this
summer, and although I can use the web browser on my phone it’ll be much
more awkward.
BTW, this post is being sent from my desktop PC email client to test =
whether
Wordpress will process the post properly this way - although I’m not to
hopeful!=20

As you can see from the above, using the desktop PC email client instead of my mobile email client hasn’t made any difference.
I have removed the alphanumeric representation of the image for readability purposes.
It’s such a shame this doesn’t work. OK, so next I’ll try using the mobile to blog from Flickr to my blog…
